About PRO
Ever since version 4 of Skiley went live, we've introduced a PRO version of it. Through a one-time purchase, you can enable brand-new features and full access to Skiley.
"PRO" purchases are always linked to your Spotify account, so your Spotify account will have a PRO status independently of the device you use to access Skiley. For example, if you buy PRO through the iOS app (therefore, using Apple Pay to purchase it), you'll also have PRO when accessing Skiley through the Android app or website.
What do I get with PRO?
You can always check the PRO page inside Skiley to see your current benefits and features. In an overview though, by enabling PRO status in your Skiley account, you'll get:
- Unlimited actions on playlists (like filtering, sorting, playlist creation, shuffling, etc.)
- Non-PRO users can only use a very limited number of playlist actions per week
- Features that are marked as BETA might be unlimited even for non-PRO users
- No ads at all
- Mood-based playlist creation
- Automated Discover Daily
- Save Release Radar
- Premium support (through feedback and e-mail)
- View up to 200 of your top artists and songs
- More songs in your Discover Daily playlists
- More songs when creating similar playlists
- Much more to come!
I had VIP status before. Why don't I have PRO?
In the past (that is, before v4), users that contributed with positive feedback to Skiley (by giving us a rating with a comment on how to improve, or by sending feedback) had a VIP status. This VIP status enabled some features and nice-to-have tweaks, like "Artist Discography" feature, "Discover Discography" feature, Discover Daily playlists with more songs, seeing up to 99 (from 50) of your most listened to artists and songs, etc.
However, it was practically impossible to keep working on Skiley while also making it a free service. For the last 5 years that it has been live, it cost more money to host Skiley than it achieved through ads and donations that very few users made. And we're not even considering the amount of time that was necessary to develop and maintain it... 🥲
So, as sad as it is... we had to introduce a PRO status to unlock some of Skiley's features, hoping that we could at least pay for the server costs. Unfortunately, we did not find another way to keep Skiley running.
However, introducing this PRO status also enabled us to spend more time working on the product and making it even better.
