Account & Login

How do I create an account?

Can I use Skiley without a Spotify account?

No, Skiley requires a Spotify account to function since it works with your Spotify data.

Do I need Spotify Premium?

No! Skiley works with both free and premium Spotify accounts. However, some Spotify features (like playback controls) require Premium.

I can't log in. What should I do?

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure you're using a valid Spotify account
  2. Clear your browser cache and cookies
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Check if Spotify is experiencing outages
  5. Contact us at support@skiley.net

Click the settings icon (gear) in the navigation menu, then click Logout.

Can I use multiple Spotify accounts?

Yes, but you need to log out and log back in with the other account. Each Spotify account has its own separate Skiley data.

Playlists

How many playlists can I edit?

Free users have a weekly limit on playlist actions. PRO users have unlimited actions.

Why can't I edit a playlist?

You can only edit playlists you own. If someone else created the playlist, you need to copy it first, then edit your copy.

Can I edit my Liked Songs?

Not directly (Spotify limitation). Copy your Liked Songs to a regular playlist first, then edit the copy.

Changes aren't showing in Spotify. Why?

  1. Wait a few seconds for sync
  2. Close and reopen the Spotify app
  3. Make sure the playlist sort is set to "Custom order" in Spotify
  4. Check your internet connection

Can I undo changes?

Most playlist actions are irreversible. Always make a copy of important playlists before making major changes.

Do local files work?

Most features don't support local files. They're typically ignored in operations like copying, filtering, and exporting.

Features

Where are my lyrics?

Lyrics appear in the Now Playing section when you play a song. Not all songs have lyrics available in our database.

Why don't I see my stats?

Stats require listening history. If you're a new user or use Private Session frequently, you might not have enough data. Wait 1-2 weeks of regular listening.

What does "action limit reached" mean?

Free users have a weekly limit on playlist actions (creating, editing, filtering, etc.). The limit resets each week, or you can upgrade to PRO for unlimited actions.

How does Discover Daily work?

Discover Daily analyzes your recent listening and creates a playlist of recommended songs. The Automated version (PRO-only) updates daily automatically.

Can I customize what goes into automated playlists?

Automated playlists (like Automated Discover Daily) adapt to your listening habits automatically. You can't manually customize their contents, but they evolve based on what you listen to.

Technical Questions

Does Skiley work offline?

No, Skiley requires an internet connection to communicate with Spotify's servers.

Why is Skiley slow?

Possible reasons:

  • Large playlists take longer to process
  • Slow internet connection
  • High server load
  • Many operations running at once

Try refreshing the page or waiting a few minutes.

Do I need to keep Skiley open?

For most actions, no. Once you start an operation, it runs on our servers. You can close Skiley and check back later. Automated features (PRO) run automatically without keeping Skiley open.

Can I use Skiley and Spotify at the same time?

Yes! In fact, you should. Keep Spotify playing while using Skiley to see real-time information in the Now Playing section.

Can I get a refund?

If I switch devices, do I keep PRO?

Yes! PRO is linked to your Spotify account, not your device. Log in on any device with the same Spotify account to access PRO features.

Can I share PRO with family?

No, PRO is linked to a single Spotify account and cannot be shared or transferred.

Can I buy PRO for multiple Skiley accounts on the same device?
